In Edo, they caught the interest of Mito Mitsukuni, who arranged for them to travel to Mito.

However, Mitsukuni had a specific reason for his interest in them. He intended to send them to Ezo (Hokkaido) aboard the giant ship "Kaifumaru," built by the Mito domain.
