He rises up like a star, walking the path of a legendary cultivator.

From being a tiny, small ant at the bottom of the world, he rises step by step, into a place full of powerful sects, strong ancient clans and countless geniuses.

It starts like standard Wuxiaxia/Xuanhuan LNs. Energy for cultivation in the Air, cultivation realms where evvery new realm is much stronger, MC is born in a low family and starts from scratch and wants to become strong, the strongest era is already over and so on...

But it will become better and better.

Although the main aim of Zhao Feng (getting strong) doesn't change, everything around him does and so the plot becomes a lot better.

He also meets other people frequently who can fight opponents of a higher realm and the variety... more>> of fighting styles so the fights remain interesting.

Although there aren't that many Characters you especially remember, there aren't bad eather, and therefore facpalm moments are more or less nonexistant.

You have to read a bit, but it is definitaly worth it.

(...a bit means around 100 chapters and you see light and around 200 chapters until it starts to get really good) <<less

I like how the character is not overpowered all the time and has its own unique adventure as compared to other novels I read. It isn't that repetitive, it doesn't contain those annoying harems, and the characters are pretty rational. At later chapters, there are more and more cliffhanger events that make you wonder how will he attempt to solve the problems he faced, and each time it is rather a different approach.

Great book, while the start is slow or repetitive to some/most I think is a good foundation for the way the MC develops later on. If you're comming from Japanese anime/manga/novels and starting to read Chinese novels just think how much longer this stories are, is bound to repeat some of its structure but on a different way making the whole very enjoyable.

P.s. If you read a review/comment about this book were they compare it to the sharingan it only means they haven't read enough Chinese novels and you could... more>> very likely just dismiss that review <<less

Here is my review: I'd give it a 4/5, I'm at chapter 376; Lets be honest here, if you like KAKASHI you will like the MC. The romance is developing, no love making so far (S*X) but their is mainly one girl who has not been dropped since the beginning of the novel and still in 376+ chapters. There have been multiple girls who have fallen for MC but one sided affection. In addition, MC does not dramatically jump levels to defeat OP cultivators like ATG Yun Che. At least,... more>> he has been the strongest at his cultivation level, and have never jumped over 3+ levels. Action Is great, and I've even laughed a couple of times reading, the author has good humor.

Favorite Chapter is 268 (best romance so far), also my favorite arc!!!! <<less

A very typical xianxia, filled with shallow characters and standard jade-like beauties. You might even call it tr*sh, yet it is fairly entertaining tr*sh. I finished this novel via MTL, so there was some eye-bleeding involved, but it kept me interested and entertained enough to read it to completion.

Story focuses more on eye powers than other xianxias, to the point where I could compare it to the byakugan and sharingan from Naruto. To be fair, they probably both draw on the same Hindu/Vedic/Taoist beliefs, but the fact is that his God-eye is able to see through everything and can copy all other abilities.....

If you're bored and have spare time, this may be a reasonable read.

People giving this 1 or 2 stars don't know what they're talking about, they read the first 50 chaps and decided it sucks. However if you are in the mood for a traditional chinese LN novel I suggest this one because imho it is one of the best.

If there is a con to this series it is that it's not original, you will see a lot of cliches esp. At the start there is the weak MC but with strong will, the mysterious female MC, villains who dont know mt... more>> tai etc. But tbh every wusha/xianxia has these elements its like watching a disney movie and saying the disney princesses and villains are all the same. It is still a very enjoyable read and you will have lots of fighting, humor and pther stuff you look for in LNs.

Past chapter 100 or so you will see the novel open up and move on from these generic elements starting with a thieving cat for a sidekick. The MC starts showing a lot more personality and you will see him solve problems through a combination of talent, skill, luck and wit, thats something you rarely see in these novels the MC and his cat sidekick are extremely smart and cunning and will outwit enemies before they pwn them. The MC becomes a sort of cheat character eventually, he becomes skilled in close combat, long range and even gets psychic skills he can use to hypnotize opponents. Again I highly recommend this series there are a lot of twists that I don't want to spoil. <<less

Very Good :)

1.) Good story:

The story is starting slowly but gaining so much dept and twists.

2.) great Powers:

There are any different powers and they are used at the right places. Not all at once but the MC is gaining strength and powers in a way it makes sense.

The devil is in the details, and the details are pretty good in this one.

Granted, the overall flow of this story is generic - MC in small clan, goes through training selection to an unbelievable level with an immortal only to find that he's at the tip of the iceburgh of the martial arts world.

BUT... so it is with every other story. What makes this story good is that each scene for the most part comes with more imagination and solid writing.
- Good character interaction
- Interesting martial skills coupled with exciting action that is not repetitive skill name calling.
- Well done fantasy stylization for common Xianxia scenes, making it feel like a fresh and unique story.
- Consistent story progress without to much abnoxious filler material.
- Good slow introduction to new characters and environments - No info dumps or over saturation of characters with similar names.

There are a few questionable moments where personal frustration occurred for me.
Spoiler

- MC first exhibition of his bloodline power was to the most dangerous blood sect member... Blatant foreshadowing
- MC mission using array knowledge to find the blood sect member, and a few other times, and him realizing the importance of Array/Alchemy knowledge, and not pursing the 2nd level of knowledge offered up by his 2 previous masters... I personally think this would have been a better route than a Tournament.
- Not a big fan of Tournaments... In fact, can't stand them... even though this stories tournament is better written than most with unique fights... It came to quickly after the sects realm contest with was much much better. I would liked to have scene a bit more of MC chasing and fighting with blood sect members as a mission over a tourney.

Zhao Feng is still in the stages of development, so we still have a lot to see... the plot of his development is very well made, Normally all the MC's get an OP artifact and they get powerful without any consequences but in this novel we see that the artifact he got also has an effect on him, which for me is a nice touch.

This novel is epitome Of tr*shy xianxia, I do not know how I managed to read until 300 chapters. It is due to the fact that I have almost read everything translated and have nothing else to read.

MC is flat cardboard who is smart and acts like he has seen it all but he is only 14. The plot do not make sense as all other characters except MC are super s*upid. You can sum up whole novel like this fight in tournaments--> get inheritance---> fight in tournament again---> get... more>> inheritance or some bs skill again.

Whole novel is extremely repitative and Author truly delivers epic fast food novel no wonder his name is fast food restaurant. Author is just mocking at you all brainless idiots who rated this 5. He must be laughing at all these fools who say the story is brilliant <<less

Boring plot.

Repetitive.

"The once in a hundreds years event and just so happened that MC is there and it's next couple of months opening Justsu" is ridiculous.

... more>> MC must have been a pet pet servant of a true ultimate multi-cosmos god in his past life to have this broken luck and coincidences.

And the most garbage about this novel is the structure of power system. = No structure at all.

Random name ability destroys another random name ability with zero explanation. Just because he's MC.

Story is just like a diary not a novel.

MC goes point A.

'Accidentally' found inheritance'.

Grow strong.

Arrogant young stone on the way.

Kicks stone.

More stones come because they belong to the same pile.

Deus helps.

Win.

Profit.

Repeat.

Like Leylin Farlier said, these guys are bunch of Child of destiny who would stumble upon treasures by just wondering around.

Lucky for them, no Leylin here. All stones. <<less

Dropped, reason;

Complete bullshit.

MC starts in the weakest world's weakest continent's weakest's country's weakest families' probably weakest branch family.

... more>> The story basically progresses as following; become a little bit stronger and go to a little bit stronger country/clan, and start a cycle of being an outer disciple, inner disciple, core disciple cycle etc.

In terms of cultivation explanation or skills, total bullsh*t again, especially skills every once in a while MC says a ridiculous skill name, which probably includes heavenly, blabla cool names, and we will not even know when the heck did the MC learn that skill and how it works :)

Anyway, if you like the abovementioned toic and you have nothing to do just read try to read this shit. <<less

First half that happens in original continent world is ok, but after that novel becomes even more tedious. It's pretty much 90% mindless battle monologue. Cultivation novels always have enemies popping up, but in this novel they seem to literally just pop out of nowhere with little reason.

I read the whole thing but after while it was all just a blur of same thing, thus I started skipping a lot. There's almost no actual story here.

Average in every way. Zhao feng remains a blank piece of paper the whole story. The trope of sect strength gets way too repetitive and experts just one level above out MC seem to miraculously appear every time he levels up. Pure simple-minded cultivation story that does good in not getting anything too wrong.

As of 795, it's been a decent story. Has a similar vibe to WDQK / BTTH but with a LOT more tournaments. The MC is mainly a lone wolf type of guy and doesn't rely on others in a team. The action is good, but too much of the story is driven forward by progressing to a bigger "world" and participating in another tournament for better fortune. There should have been more mini arcs where he has to go out in the world and go through life/death situations instead of... more>> always doing it in a hidden treasure world that opens conveniently when he joins a new sect. <<less

I have been seeing a lot of negitive reviews for this novel. The most irratating part is that they are true. The plot is generic. The charcters are 2 dimensional. And there is defiantly a lack of proper explanation of skills and rankings. But at the end of the day that is what this novel is-a generic xania power fantasy. So when you take into consideration what this story is aiming for, and contrast that to what it actualy achieves, you come to see how absolutely amazing it is. For... more>> example, while the MC may be bland and uninspiring, he also shows himself to be very inteligent, and uses that inteligence in almost every battle (along with his gods eye) to fully manipulate the battlefield. This brings about intilegence, charm and suspence to every battle the MC is in. And this is just one example of the multitude of ways the novel manages to shine. So if you are looking for anything better than a simple power fantasy then this story is not for you. But for those willing to give the story a try, you just might be surprised. <<less

This novel is a treasure among all those other cultivation novels. It is a very good read for all those beginners who are just entering the world of martial arts and cultivation novels. Even this is my first cultivation novel!

I don't know what others say about this novel but for me..... it is a 5/5.

Spoiler

For the first 120 or so chapters the MC will get his God Eye and starts his body refining. He will win over all those who bullied him. And this will repeat over and over but in different places at different times.

I read it all and it says a lot. I read all the translated chapters first and then I finished the rest with machine translation. Apart from IET's novels I always stopped the machine translation because it became hard to read but I finished this one so it means it stays interesting.

It is not an amazing novel. It has many strong points but also many drawbacks. However it is an interesting read and because all novels can't be masterpieces we need interesting novels. Sure I won't read it again like... more>> I could with other novels but I enjoyed reading it and that's all that matters.

Don't listen to those who compare this with Naruto because it's wrong. Maybe the author was inspired by Naruto with the Eye power but that's it. And it is good from the start. Like all good novels the progress are slow at first and you have to wait for the MC to be a little powerful for the story to get really going. It's normal because a real ennemy has to be powerful and you have to wait for the MC to have enough power to mix with him.

Good points :

-Scheming MC. He always has a plan and doesn't rush into things. (Except once)

-Love interests well developed. He doesn't built a harem and feelings progress over time. Sure there are many girls who fancy him but it is expected when you are powerful and nice. However it never goes any further.

-Cultivation depends on many aspects and talent and comprehension plays a huge part. You can win with a lower ranked battle skill against a higher ranked one if you comprehend it way better than your adversary.

-The MC stays in a area for a long period before moving to better places and even returns to previous locations from time to time. He has roots unlike MCs who go to different places after a while without looking back like they are just passing levels.

-The plot is good and entertaining. There is always a goal for him to leave a place and it's rarely to find a better Cultivation place (he does but it's not the primary goal)

-Timeline. The MC has time to grow. He doesn't become an expert overtime. He stays in a Realm for years before reaching the next (except at first but it's because they are shitty Realms not worth mentioning in normal places)

-Side characters remained for a long time, some the whole story.

Bad points:

-His allies are incompetent. They are useless most of the time and he has to do things himself.

-He makes ennemies so easily. Granted it's mostly for good reasons but it's still too much. He can't find a treasure, without everybody knowing about it. So it results in having one insanely powerful ennemy or having the whole world as an ennemy because his treasure is something everybody wants.

-The ennemies have too powerful means to deal with the MC. He can't hide and cultivate in peace, and with his special powers you would think he could find a mean to do it but no.

-Ressources play a huge role in everything. Sometimes you ask yourself if the MC is talented or if it's just because he eats pills and whatnot like candies to aid his cultivation. Even when he studiew the Dao he uses external factors.

-The ending is crap. The MC has to fight ennemies who are millions of years old and super powerful while he is barely one or two hundred years old. The final power ups are too fast. <<less

I hate writing reviews but after seeing so many negative ones I needed to put my 2 cents in. If you look at gravity tales translater notes you would see that he states the story doesn't get really good until around 200 and I agree. Most people reviewing don't get that far in so I feel like there complaining for nothing. Others are saying his eye is like the sharingan from naruto but well its not like naruto was the first to come up with eye powers and his eye... more>> does so much more. And he tries not to rely on it. Honestly its its own story.

Its not perfect. Like I said it starts slow, seems generic at first. It doesn't get interesting till later but let me say when it gets good it gets good.

Somethings I like about it. The eye gives him the ability to stay really calm and analytical. He is a very smart protagonist. Not really strategy but tactics. He's not hot blooded or arrogant. The fight scenes and the action scenes are really well done.

More then most this character has a power that is OP and yet the charcter is not written that way. He has conflicts that are really challenging. You wonder how is he going to get through this. While he may have a cool power others have eye powers and blood lines and secret skills too. And they no what there doing. He has to learn through trial and error.

A wide variety off abilities are shown. Also I like that characters come back. Most off the side characters come back and are important later. Some can keep up with him.

The story progresion is more steady and better developed then most. He stays in one place and area a lot longer then most characters and it gives the story time to flesh out the world and every area. One thing I really like is while he does fight and kill. Most off the time he doesn't have too. There is basic law and order in his world unless your in the wilderness or something. Some stories there is so much killing and no rules that you wonder how their world functions. It gets too illogical levels like every where a character goes people are killing each other constantly. Ive seen a lot off waxia like that. But here he mostly has to deal with ambushers or coups. But when he needs to be ruthless he can be ruthless. He is bad a with just how can survive against the odds.

lastly the little theiving cat ? Best thing ever. <<less

First of all. He was not a tr*sh. He did not have broken meridians or some crippling ailment. The matter of fact is he started from a lower background. But our author would just love to give him an overpowered ability that just happens to fall from heaven or lightning either way.

Given the character's initial personality he would have made a name gradually for himself without the helping hand of our God author.

At first the story was reasonable but as you can imagine the usual tournaments, grave/ruin/dungeon inheritance robbing and... more>> antagonists wanting to steal his bloodline, eye or love interest. It becomes a typical mess.

You expect by the time you become an expert you don't have to enter tournaments again. But no it repeats itself even till the end of the novel.

Author even have problems remembering whether the protagonist is initial, early, (intermediate gets chucked in sometime), late, peak or half step in a particular cultivation realm. Now that makes things even more confusing.

Author doesn't give enough back story or good enough explanation to help with the world building. Characters and sects are thrown around easily forgotten.

For action, fun, killing, romance, intelligent main characters etc. Look elsewhere. <<less
