Just like Shield Hero, Reincarnated Slime is also apparently written better when the light novel was published (and I can agree to that if the manga is adapting it well). There are many points where the author could've fleshed it out more and actually, I really like how Rimuru has a deep connection with Shizu in the improved version compared to the webnovel.

It's a good story filled with overpowered demon lords and town building with a very smart and powerful slime in the middle of all of this. It's funny... more>> and also heart wrenching at times. Will definitely finish reading this and also buy the official English release of the light novel version.

Read if you like smart and strong main characters and aren't pushovers. <<less

I love this series! Sadly I had to wait too long and got board of it. Normally I absolutely despise and avoid protagonists that have abilities that take other people's abilities when they kill/destroy them, because it is cliché and wasteful. The only time it is ok to do it is when there is a HUUUUUGE amount of room for growth and when the MC has a very specific disadvantage that they have to overcome. The world building is spectacular, and the MC and his friends are not invulnerable.
Spoiler

He even gets killed and the whole world gets destroyed by his nemesis, and the only thing that prevented this was a freak time travel accident that accidentally created a reality where everything didn't go to shit. The deciding factor was either letting the MC stay with his pupils or save the lives of his subordinates (read the story if you want to know which one it was >:D).

[collapse]

The handling of pupils and subordinates, I now realize, only remained fresh and continuously interesting because the author was a genius and REFUSED TO INCLUDE HAREM ASPECTS. Because of this almost all pitfalls that a novel normally dies to got yanked out, and allowed for a level headed MC to take the stage, one that will not make rash and predictable decisions based off their lower regions. I seriously recommend this novel!

When OP reincarnation of a working adult in an other world doesn't change that person into either a mass mu*derer (goblin kingdom, re: monster) or a h**ny teen building a s*ave harem (too common these days sadly).

Decent writing, decent translation (mostly), a mostly interesting world and systems, and a somewhat successful try at making the characters not too single minded.

I'm definitely not saying that it's a perfect novel by any mean, but it secured itself among the ones I am actually looking forward to read when I see a new... more>> chapter, among the pile that I just read to waste time.

Word of warning though, it does contain OP protagonist, village/country building, and you are severely hinted from the very start that the main character is going to be fighting higher powers and save the world.
Spoiler

Angels that destroy monsters and reset technology levels are directly pointed as future enemies when they invade, but it would not surprise me if they also ended up fighting gods too.

The novel is rather nice.

It was my first novel that I read and it does have a special spot for me.

The story is interesting but some elements could have been worked on more. This is corrected in the light novel which I also recommend to anyone interested.

It is a really nice story about a guy that gets reincarnated as a slime and has has to look after an an increasing number of responsibilities. As he grown and becomes more aware of the world, more problems appear for him to handle.

This story can be summarized with "that escalated quickly". Somebody wrote on TV Tropes that TenSura looks like an RPG, but it's actually a 4X. "You have to be this OP to ride".

The action, and the sh*t and giggles are it's selling point. The "instant kingdom building: just add water!" might be fun and an important, but not the best part. The world-building is also so-so.

Rimuru is fun personified. Weird monster philosophies of "following the strong" aside, he is running a nation with only his abilities as a manager and... more>> his rizz.

The two big minus are the facts it is a WN —it's old and sometimes bare-bones—; and the many in name only characters —forget the time to shine, they aren't even given dialogues. Of course, those issues are resolved in the LN and it's adaptations, so you might as well go straight to them instead. <<less

Definitely a high quality book that excels in it's genre. Any complaints I have are with the morals of the MC, but I can't really ask for that in a genre which is so unfortunately closely tied to adult media. The protagonist being a slime definitely helped a lot on that front.

Gonna be honest, I skipped most of the post apocalyptic nonsense in the epilogue.

But yeah, this is pretty great. Some combat, some country building, and plenty of wrap up. And now it's an anime too. The apocalypse nonsense is whatever but everything else is good. You should already know what this is, so go ahead and enjoy.

I read up to around chapter 300+. The story is good and very entertaining. Its a really good isekai novel with the take of a slime who makes it big and finds a place to belong. I love the descriptive fights and developments of the characters in the story with all the RPG elements such as evolution. I think it falls near the end where it becomes over the top and the story loses tension. It becomes less interesting as the fights don't feel like there's anything at the line... more>> and less emotional (they fight for the sake of fighting).
Spoiler

It's not as hype as Veldora sword lol and feels like a fight just so there's a fight in the end

I'll try to finish and re-read it so I can give a more accurate review in the future. <<less

The story is good and all, the only thing this story need is editing. I've read the manga as well and felt that the manga did a good job of editing this novel for example:

Spoiler

in novel the dryad appeared out pf nowhere and suddenly offering food, whilist the manga had the dryad appeared earlier and made request first to defeat the orc.... and in manga gabil's father were given name much earlier than in the novel, giving justification to him giving his treasured spear to his son (as he is much stronger and can protect the tribe w/o the spear) the story would feel smoother with thisnkind of editing and I would expect much in the future from the manga lol....

[collapse]

Another thing is character growth most prominently rimuru himself I guess..... I mean like

Spoiler

at one point ariund 100 of his/her tribesmen killed in a surpruse attack inside the town.... including one of his/her close confidant, eventough s/he raged but after they're all ressurected s/he acted as if never happened in the first place...... not like I'm against his/her idea of coexistence with humans it's just that..... it felt like s/he didn't learn a thing...... shortly after this massacre and ressurection a group of elite monster exterminator invade again, and his/her order is to defeat the knight w/o killing a single one of em.... like hello dude? Sure u're powered up as is your subordinate, sure u've made preparations against enemy magic and all, but at the end of the day.... anything could happen..... if something unexpected happen and his/her comrade die again cuz of this s*upid order of defeat em w/o killing em then it would be his/her fault... after all capturing is harder than killing...... if s/he made that order while adding something along the line of "however if they're stronger than expected, kill them and take some of them captives. But most important of all...... none of u are allowed to die in this battle" I would give my stamp of approval as s/he started to grow and no longer as naive ad before (it's still naive imo, but far better) this point is also the point I hoped the manga and light novel version would fix....

[collapse]

All in all? 3/5... the 2 stars were for the 2 point i've written above.... were those 2 points fixed, this manga would get full mark......

Edit: since rimuru is genderless I ship him/her with veldora! <<less

This story is a classic, there is a middle aged virg*n man transimigration but no harem and or female body objectification for his liking. He is very human and the author does a great job convincing you to cheer for him. It is well written although you sometimes get bored with over explanation of setting and places.

So Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, well, Weak to Strong is certainly an accurate tag since he just keeps getting stronger cause he wasn't OP enough already later in the novel. Well written in my opinion and worth a read if you enjoy game-like skills and kingdom building. Ciel-Sensei is the best

This novel is freaking awesome. There may be some inconsistencies with the translations, but the story is so dang awesome. Really enjoying the setting and the worldbuilding along with the characters. MC is OP, but so is his opponents. Really enjoyable novel.

I love this stories where the MC isn’t immediately OP-ed, it was extremely fun until chapter 67, after he became OP-ed I really thought that this is going to be another novel which is all about getting stronger until the MC became god.

Thankfully that expectation was destroyed as he remained calm, although his casual naïvity died just like Kumo T^T. After reading further, it actually became more and more interesting and I became hooked in to this (though the release rate has dropped because of RL). I love the mystery... more>> from who —, although it was weird why —. But for now I will enjoy the tournament. <<less

The series is pretty refreshing. It doesn't focus on one character alone but to the side characters. I would gladly read this more than twice!

If only this kind of plot is usually available...

The storyline is interesting, which is the main appeal for me, but the translation's a mess. An editor added stuff instead of correcting it, so once they get the accuracy and quality fixed it'll be better.
